Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the team. This candidate will need a strong understanding of grants and they will be tasked with preparing program budgets and modifications.Client DetailsOur client is a well known Non Profit that has been around for over 100 years. As they have continuously helped both children and families, they are very well respected within New York CityDescription* Prepares program budget and modifications.* Remits programs fiscal claims monthly/quarterly for payment.* Monitors program expenditures to ascertain with budget parameters* Monitors grants' balance and transfer funding dollars from Friends to Seamen's* Prepares and transmits bank transfers, stop payments and ach direct deposits, taxed -deferred annuity, pension loan payments and calendar year-end pension payments* Maintains worksheets for allocation of expenses for monthly journal entries and Fund EZ accounts payable shared cost allocation* Prepares accounts analysis and assists with all audits* Prepares Fiscal Board Reports/Financial Statements* Assists with preparation of SSOPProfile* Bachelor's degree in accounting and 5+ years of senior level accounting experience required.* Due to the nature of the work environment work hours will be based on needs of program and may vary.* Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned within scope of position* Computer proficiency and knowledge of Fund EZ.* Must possess good communication skills.* Ability to multi task.* Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation* Excellent command of Microsoft OfficeJob OfferCompetitive pay and a strong benefits package.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
