Title: Senior Accountant
Reports to: VP of Accounting and Finance

Description
The Senior Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other related financial activities. This position will also assist in providing financial reporting to senior management for the various divisions of the organization. The position reports to the Controller and represents an opportunity to grow a career with future advancement opportunities in the areas of accounting and finance.
Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. These essential duties include:
* Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
* Prepares and posts recurring general ledger entries on a regular basis.
* Assist in producing monthly and quarterly reports, financial results, and variance reporting.
* Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management.
* Assist in preparing and monitoring financial budgets.
* Improve tools and reports to aid in the strategic decision-making processes.
* Reconciles bank accounts monthly, including verifying deposits and withdrawals.
* Posting of monthly, quarterly, and yearly prepaids and accruals.
* Maintains integrity of the financial data via monthly account reconciliations.
* Analyzes data to ensure accuracy of the financial statements.
* Assisting the Controller with providing auditors with necessary accounting information and documentation.
* Compiling information to assist in the filing of tax forms with various government agencies.

Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field, required.
* At least 5 years of related work experience required.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
* Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
* Competency in the following computer programs: Advanced MS Excel knowledge including use of macros, Microsoft Office Suite.
