Job Description:
As a Senior Accountant, you will support our organization's financial operations, which is dedicated to providing affordable homeownership solutions. Your role will involve assisting the CFO, Controller, and teams in implementing effective fiscal strategies and maintaining accurate financial records. You will perform daily accounting functions, manage month-end close activities, process invoices, record cash deposits, and make necessary adjusting entries.You will generate recurring reports for home sales, work-in-progress, cost summaries, rental activities, and compliance requirements using Sage Intacct. You will collaborate with internal departments to ensure best practices in service delivery and financial processes. Additionally, you will lead significant projects, including the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Program and Real Estate Development initiatives, and work on insurance integration.We are looking for strong accounting skills, particularly in corporate accounting, with a focus on detailed financial documentation and project management.We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Required Skills & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field 3+ years of financial, accounting, audit, or related work experience in a financial institution or mortgage company. Proficiency in common accounting practices and GAAP Principals Technical Expertise: Thorough understanding of the organization's nonprofit financial model and the relevant accounting policies for managing bank accounts, investments, loans, mortgages, mortgage-backed securities, real estate development, grants, and standard accounts. Nice to Have Skills & ExperienceReal-Estate Accounting Experience (Real Estate Development OR Commercial Real Estate) Experience with electronic tools such as Salesforce, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and advanced Excel Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
