CFS has partnered with a family-owned company to help identify their new Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in preparing monthly financial statements, analyzing reports, and reviewing account reconciliations. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for preparing work papers and gathering relevant documentation for third-party audits.

Essential Functions
- Review and approve journal entries for accurate posting to the general ledger.
- Prepare journal adjustments for the month-end close process.
- Compile and analyze data from the general ledger to prepare both internal and external consolidated financial statements.
- Review monthly account reconciliations for various Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts.
- Analyze plant expenses and conduct qualitative reviews of variances, including comparisons to budget and prior year results.
- Provide insights and answers into accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting relevant data.
- Support external auditors by preparing work papers and gathering necessary account information and documentation for the annual audit.
- Independently conduct analyses or prepare reports to fulfill specific project requirements.
- Oversee general accounting functions, including capital expenditures, payroll reconciliations, and job cost entries.
- Maintain and manage the schedule for tax filings and ensure timely payments.
- Assist in identifying and implementing ERP system enhancements.
- Stay current on and maintain knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and procedures.
Desired qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3-5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance within a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Public accounting experience is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
This position is full-time onsite in Brewster, NY offering $90,000-$102,000 depending on experience.#INDEC2024
