Garfield County Hospital District is seeking an experienced individual as a Senior Accountant. The candidate will be a key player in ensuring the smooth and accurate operations of accounting processes and will work in coordination with Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Human Resource teams. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or directly related area; equivalent experience will be counted in lieu of education.
Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant, under the guidance of the CFO, performs special audits, studies, or reviews to determine the reliability and accuracy of accounting reports and financial statements. Responsibilities include maintaining the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, as well as interfaces between the general ledger and other operating systems. Participates in audit and cost report activities, budget activities, statistical record keeping and financial reporting. Collaborates with Payroll and Accounts Payable functions. Ensures department activities and outcomes are aligned with the strategic plan and the organization's mission, vision and values. This position combines a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping/accounting, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

For this role, the compensation range is $30-$43 per hour, dependent upon skillset and experience.
