Job: Senior Admissions Assistant Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Dean of Enrollment Management and her designee, the Senior Admissions Assistant will provide admissions support and coordinate key administrative processes for the department. They will act as a secondary point of contact for visitors and callers to the Admissions Office, and will be responsible for representing the Admissions Office and the College by answering questions about the first-year and transfer admissions policies and process, and about Barnard College in general. Job Description: DUTIES:
  • Respond to and monitor telephone and email-based inquiries regarding the admissions process and academic programs available at Barnard.
  • Provide technical assistance for all virtual programming, including setting up Zoom meetings and webinars and answering live questions during sessions.
  • Assist with scheduling in-person and virtual visits and events for admissions representatives during recruitment season.
  • Provide email assistance to BAAR coordinator by managing the BAAR inbox.
  • Assist with in-person travel and hosting arrangements for open house and fly-in programs.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of in-person class visits with faculty and manage the events in the department CRM, Slate
  • Assist with administrative duties for in-person visits during check-in.
  • Provide Visitor Center coverage on selected weekend days during peak season and at other hours during seasonal events.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.
Skills, Qualifications & Requirements: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • An understanding of the values of a liberal arts education for women and the ability to articulate these values effectively is also essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends for on-campus or virtual programming.
  • Computer skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • AA degree required
  • BA or BS (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and work.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant office experience.
Pay Rate: $32.50/hr - $32.50/hr The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
