We strongly encourage members of underrepresented communities to apply to join our community.Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.Position Summary:Theideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community andhave a desire and ability to work with a diverse population.The SeniorAdmissions Counselor will assist in coordinating the admissions process on theFramingham campus, including both general admissions to all degrees andcertificates and also selective admission to specialized programs.The individualwill perform student admissions, advising, and administrative work.Specifically, the individual will be responsible for managing the admissionsprocess for prospective and admitted Health Science, Sonography, and EmergencyMedical Services students, including evaluating admissions applications,meeting with applicants, estimating transfer credits, recruiting students, andprocessing and maintaining documentation. The Counselor will be expected towork some evening or weekend hours for recruitment activities, informationsessions, and special events, or during peak times.Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Assist in coordinating thecollege admission process for the Divisions of Health Sciences,Humanities, Social Science and Professional Studies (SSPS), Science,Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), and Transportation and Energy;
  • Manage the admissionslifecycle for Health Science, Radiologic Technology, and Sonography(future program), including:
-Evaluatingapplications of prospective students;-Receivingtranscripts from other colleges and estimating transfer credits:determining which courses/credits can be transferred to student's currentprogram;-Determiningeligibility and acceptance of applicants into selective Health Sciencesprograms;-Evaluatingreadmission applications Health Sciences applicants for programeligibility;-Presentingqualified candidates to admissions committees directed by Health Sciencesfaculty;-PromotingMassTransfer program and specialized Health Sciences articulation agreements;
  • Attend quarterly planningmeetings and collaborate with the Academic & Transfer Advising Centerto ensure expeditious and accurate Admissions/Advising services to allpre-health students;
  • Participate in recruitmentactivities and provide information on college opportunities, admissionpolicies, and procedures as well as activities such as:
-Providinginformation to prospects, applicants, and students via telephone, e-mail,website, walk-in visits, or scheduled appointments;-Workingwith program coordinators to promote programs and recruit students;-Organizinginformation sessions, presentations, and recruitment activities;-Deliveringoral presentations and travel to recruitment sites;-Collaboratingwith select local high schools and community-based organizations onadmission activities relating to recruitment, testing, and registrationof students;
  • Assist internationalstudents with completion of admissions applications/documentation;
  • Promote DualEnrollment/Early Admissions Agreement through recruitment activities;
  • Assist in the evaluationof policies and procedures as they pertain to the Office of Admissions;
  • Promote services andacademic pathways through Corporate Partnerships and WorkforceDevelopment;
  • Perform administrativetasks associated with department activities;
  • Interact with variousagencies/individuals;
  • Attend meetings and serveon committees, participate in open houses, career panels, and informationsessions, communicate with supervisor, employees, other departments,current/prospective students, parents, faculty members, other educationalfacilities, the public, outside agencies, and other individuals tocoordinate activities, review the status of work, exchange information, orresolve problems;
  • May coordinate work ofassigned work-study students or other support staff;
  • Maintain professionalknowledge in applicable areas through professional development;
  • Other duties as assignedand in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

A supervisor may assign other duties as required to meet the needs and foster the mission of the College.All employees of MassBay are expected to work collegially and collaboratively within a community that values and celebrates diversity.Required Qualifications:Master's degree in Business Management, Marketing, PublicRelations, Education, Counseling, Psychology, or closely related field; withtwo (2) years experience and/or training that includes marketing, publicrelations, college admissions, credit evaluation, and academiccounseling/advisement; or an equivalent combination of education, training, andexperience.Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with criteria-based HealthSciences programs;
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeSuite: Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive;
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, or experience withsimilar student information systems;
  • Experience utilizing Customer RelationshipManagement (CRM) system;
  • Bilingual in Portuguese or Spanish;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict managementskills;
  • Ideal candidate will be committed to the missionof the community college and demonstrate the ability to work effectivelywith professional, non-professional, and student personnel.
Additional Information:Salary Range: $61,692 - $68,989, in accordance with one's education and experience as dictated bythe collective bargaining agreement classification compensation structure.As a Massachusetts State Employee, youare offered an outstanding suite of benefits adding value to your salary.
