Job DescriptionVertiv is hiring a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer in Anderson, SC to provide oversight and direction on product transfers, new product development programs, Lean Six Sigma process improvements, and the standardization of manufacturing processes across Vertiv plants. Coordinate the development and enforcement of global manufacturing standards and technology leadership. • Primarily provides oversight and direction (as outlined above) for North America plants, products, projects, and processes associated with the AC Power Line of Business (LoB). Responsibilities:
- Adhere to established manufacturing procedures and provide direct support for plant-to-plant product transfers and new product development programs.
- Specify manufacturing process capabilities and develop Process FMEAs to improve product manufacturability and quality.
- Support Vertiv manufacturing operations using standard processes, equipment, and manufacturing methods.
- Identify and justify Advance Manufacturing key processes and equipment.
- Provide support for manufactured cost analyses of new and existing products.
- Creation, assist and release of standardized manufacturing documentation such as workmanship standards, work instructions, drawings, and BOMs.
- Develop and implement manufacturing layouts and plans for new products.
- Hands on to develop fixtures, jigs, new layout implementations, Prototype builds.
- Engage with R&D on early stages of product development to improve the design for manufacturing.
- Develop executive summary and ROI analysis for capital appropriation request.
- Implement best manufacturing practices for existing processes and provide multi-site manufacturing engineering support.
- Oversee the development and execution of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects for Vertiv manufacturing facilities.
- Research and lead new manufacturing technologies and practices.
- Coordinate cross-plant problem-solving teams to improve operating performance and meet business objectives.
- Assist with business-critical capital projects including facility planning, layout, and cost justification.
- Technical Advisor for Vertiv manufacturing facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Science Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Engineering/Business Operations Management and 5+ years manufacturing experience
- Preferred - MSME/IE/MBA and 3+ years manufacturing experience
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma formal training or certifications.
- PC working knowledge (MS Office, PDM system, CADD, Minitab)
- Facility or Production Line Layout development (using AutoCad or equivalent)
- Strong Mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of assembly and fabrication processes
- Knowledge of Design tools, methods, and new technologies
- Working knowledge of financial and business applications
- Skill in vendor analysis and negotiations
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
- Effective use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma process improvement tools.
- Preferred: Material Requirements Planning proficiency (ERP/MRP software)
- Preferred: Experience supporting manufacturing of system-level Configured products (containing controls and an HMI)
- Preferred: Experience compiling and submitting Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR's)
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONSMinimum
- Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Engineering/Business Operations Management and 5+ years manufacturing experience
Preferred
- Masters Science in Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Engineering/MBA and 3+ years manufacturing experience
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma formal training or certifications.
