Lightstone's development portfolio includes over $3.5 billion currently under development in the residential and hospitality sectors spread across New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami.POSITION OVERVIEW:The Senior Analyst / Associate will report into the Chief of Staff, supporting all operational and financial activities across Lightstone's multiple investment platforms and asset classes. The position will have direct engagement with Lightstone's President managing priorities, streamlining operations, and owning key strategic projects across the organization. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with strong analytical and written / verbal communication and presentation skills. Previous experience in real estate is beneficial but not necessary. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The Senior Analyst/Associate will primarily be responsible for the following functions:
  • Collaborate closely with the Chief of Staff to shape and drive strategic priorities, ensuring effective communication and execution across teams
  • Own key strategic projects end-to-end, including competitive research, strategy development, and project management.
  • Perform in-depth analysis on Lightstone's existing portfolio, identifying opportunities for improved financial and operational performance.
  • Work cross-functionally across acquisitions, development, and asset management teams to evaluate and diligence new investments.
  • Build and review Excel models to analyze new investments and portfolio performance.
  • Work closely with hospitality and food & beverage asset management, development / construction, operations, marketing, and finance teams to evaluate and improve property-level performance across the Moxy portfolio, consisting of 2700 hotel keys and 38 food & beverage venues.
  • Prepare internal and external presentations and marketing materials for capital markets initiatives including engaging directly with external capital partners.
  • Draft and review investment memorandums including conducting outside research.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance efficiency and productivity across Lightstone's various departments (finance, operations, asset management, investments).
  • Prepare and update financial summaries of investments including on a portfolio level.
  • Review Lightstone's internal and external corporate communications; prepare briefing materials, presentations, and communications on behalf of the President.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Finance, or Accounting with demonstrated academic excellence
  • MBA preferred but not necessary
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in consulting, finance or real estate
COMPETENCIES:
    • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, with expertise in Excel
    • Highly-organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task effectively in a deadline driven environment while maintaining strict attention to detail
    • Superior verbal, written communications and presentation skills
    • Understanding of accounting procedures and financial reports with ability to analyze variances
    • Strong process management skills
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex business documents including leases, financial reports, and contracts
    • Demonstrated ability to identify errors, problems and opportunities and effectively problem solve
    • Ability to thrive in an environment that is highly entrepreneurial, both strategic and creative, and which requires rapid learning, multitasking and prioritizing under tight deadlines
