POSITION MANDATEThe Senior Analyst is part of the Project Delivery Unit (PDU), providing technical communications support across a portfolio of projects for the Government Services (GS) and Partnership Accelerator (PA) business lines to deliver excellence to clients. This is a full-time position reporting to the PDU Deputy Director.The Senior Analyst-Communications Specialist will play a strategic role working across a portfolio of projects and partnerships, responsible for elevating the profile and key impact narratives of each project and coordinating with Resonance's overall communications content and presence. This will include supporting the development and execution of dynamic project communications strategies. Although project communications is the primary focus of this position, the Senior Analyst will support management of day-to-day tasks for USAID, other U.S. Government (USG) clients, and public-private partnership activities contributing to client relationship management, overall program and task management, financial management, project compliance, alongside technical assistance. The Senior Analyst works closely with clients and partners to plan, implement, and troubleshoot project implementation issues, with an emphasis on project communications issues. The Senior Analyst works closely with the PDU and Technical Sector teams to ensure technical excellence is integrated throughout project delivery. A matrixed, and integrated relationship with the Technical Sector and Communication/Marketing teams enables the Senior Analyst to receive technical guidance and mentoring about Resonance's technical best practices. The Senior Analyst establishes ongoing communication and collaboration to ensure technical alignment across project activities. Although the core mandate of the position is to support communications tasks of Resonance's GS and PA divisions, the Senior Analyst may also support billable tasks on Resonance's Impact Advisory Team; support Resonance business development tasks; and participate in corporate initiatives and committees, as necessary and appropriate.OUTCOMES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Support delivery of services under the GS and PA project portfolios, ensuring contract compliance, effective client engagement, and sound financial management
  • Support the GS and PA project portfolios by drafting, editing, and copy-editing communications materials, including but not limited to press releases, fact sheets, blog posts, case studies, talking points, slide decks, and other content as required; and navigate the necessary clearance processes for the materials as needed
  • Manage or help manage content management system (CMS) for project-related websites, including but not limited to managing third-party vendors, brainstorming and developing web content, navigating the necessary clearance processes, updating web content, and conducting ongoing maintenance of the website as needed
  • Manage or help manage email management platform (e.g. Constant Contact or MailChimp) for mass email communications (e.g., project-related newsletters and invitations)
  • Manage or help manage project-specific social media communication, including but not limited to developing social media toolkits for platforms such as X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook; collecting or developing photos, graphics, and other visuals for social media; navigating the necessary clearance processes; scheduling content; and monitoring and reporting on email analytics as needed
  • Support the development and implementation of project-specific communications strategies and plans; as well as marking and branding plans that comply with USAID and project specific templates and guidance
  • Work with project teams and grantees to develop compelling impact narratives and human-interest stories that amplify program results
  • Develop understanding of evolving USAID and private sector industry forums including websites, news outlets, events, and other convenings
  • Leverage project results to position Resonance and key partner thought leadership for broad dissemination and engagement
  • Review or draft relevant project deliverables to ensure high quality final products, including but not limited to monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, annual work plans, and technical deliverables as needed
  • Support projects with Grants Under Contract (GUC) programs to develop communications resources, tools, and informational sessions for grant applicants and grantees
  • Support grantees in projects with a GUC program in the development of communications materials to showcase their work
  • Help organize and manage communications for project-specific promotional and learning events and related outreach; provide support as needed in the planning and coordination of events
  • Maintain electronic records and databases for communications materials, which may include aligning records in both SharePoint (Resonance's system) and Google Drive (USG preferred system)
  • Support assigned projects to maintain effective communication and information sharing with clients, partners, and stakeholders
  • Support projects to recruit and field communications staff and consultants, including but not limited to graphic designers, video editors, and copyeditors as needed
  • Supports strategic corporate initiatives as relevant and appropriate
  • Enable and support organization in driving social, economic, and environmental impact
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, International Relations, or another relevant field
  • 3+ years of professional experience, preferably in a communications role
  • 1+ years of experience writing and preparing communications materials such as blog posts, social media threads, press releases, and reports for USAID and/or others
  • 2+ years of experience working on USAID-funded projects
  • Proven experience managing budgets
  • Proven expertise using the Microsoft suite of products (i.e., PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)
  • Proven expertise using presentation platforms (e.g., Canva, PowerPoint, or similar)
  • Knowledge of USAID marking and branding guidelines and USAID report structures
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Master's degree in Communications, Media, Public Affairs, International Development, or another relevant field
  • Fluency in Spanish or French
  • Demonstrated experience performing analytical work, research, and project management
  • Demonstrated technical experience in one or more of the following areas: workshop facilitation, private sector engagement, innovation, partnership development, economic growth, digital ecosystem development, circularity, women's economic empowerment
  • Experience working with private sector businesses or corporate clients
TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS Ability to travel for periods of up to three (3) weeks at a time. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position operates in a professional office environment, and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The employee must be able to make substantial repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and fingers. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 15lbs at times.
