Established in 2004, our client is an alternative asset management firm focused on small and lower middle market buyout and growth investing throughout North America. Our client partners with specialized managers and independent sponsors to construct portfolios they believe can significantly outperform broader markets. The firm manages $10b, and their private markets team specifically manages $3b.

Opportunity:

Our client is actively seeking an entrepreneurial individual to support their venture capital practice as a Senior Analyst. The firm has a deep history of investing in venture capital, having raised more than a dozen previous funds focused predominantly on early-stage and select venture growth fund investing. In this role, the senior analyst will perform a wide variety of tasks and analysis in direct support of the firm's venture capital strategy. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a multitude of venture capital strategies and investment types, including primary fund investments, direct co-investments, and secondary investments. The senior analyst role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a knowledge of venture capital and private markets.

Responsibilities:

They are seeking a Senior Analyst with strong analytical skills and a self-starter mindset. The Senior Analyst will, among other things:

  • Screening new investment opportunities
  • Portfolio data analysis
  • Monitoring existing investments and portfolios
  • Due diligence of investment opportunities
  • Researching specific investment themes
  • Financial modeling
  • Preparation of investment presentations
  • Staying up to date with venture capital market trends

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of investment or financial experience with a strong interest in venture capital / investment management
  • Bachelor's degree or further education with a strong academic track record
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and team-player with the ability to work under the guidance of senior professionals, but also self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities, specifically in finance and/or accounting
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to build and nurture personal relationships with a diverse range of people
  • Robust work-ethic and time management skills with a desire to learn
  • Ties to or desire to be in Boston
