The Research and Development Analytical Chemist needs to have deep understanding of analytical and rheological techniques used in the analysis of formulated polymer products. The techniques should include but not limit to TGA, DSC, GC, DMA, rheometer, FTIR, MS, GPC, SEM, AFM, and elemental analysis. He/she needs to be familiar with analysis of formulation components, such as polymers, fillers, plasticizers, lubricants, flame retardants, catalysts, stabilizers, curatives, catalysts, etc. He/she needs to be knowledgeable about physical and chemical separation techniques and has ability to breakdown complex formulations. Analytical Chemist is responsible for leading projects in supporting product development projects as well as trouble shooting product, process and field installation issues for different product lines at Carlisle Construction Materials. He/she is responsible for identifying, developing and implementing new analytical methods and techniques to better understand and predict formulation interactions and long-term performance. In addition, he/she has the responsibility for conducting analysis to assist chemists, engineers, and production in making qualitative and quantitative analyses for research and development of products or processes.
