Salary : $3,139.05 - $3,751.45 Monthly Location : Bakersfield, CA Job Type: Shift - Full Time Job Number: 9555 Department: ANIMAL SERVICES Opening Date: 11/14/2024 Closing Date: 11/21/2024 5:00 PM Pacific Position Information This is a Department Promotional Examination and is open to current eligible employees of the Kern County Animal Services Department who have successfully completed their initial probationary period and received an overall rating of standard or better on the last employee performance report. Shift work: 5% additional pay for evening shift work, 7.5% additional pay for night shift work; applicants must be willing to work any shift of a 24-hour period and any 5 of 7 days. Examinations: Appraisal (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of evaluating the applicant's training, education, experience, interest and personal fitness for the position. Appraisal can be based on any combination of the following: Investigation, oral examination and/or review of application. Should an oral exam be necessary, the oral exam will be weighted at 100%. Examination components for promotional testing will be administered during the scheduled dates/times/locations without exceptionMinimum Qualifications / Employment Standards High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent, and one (1) year of experience as an Animal Care Worker or directly related work in the field of animal control or professional animal care which includes the euthanasia of animals, or one (1) year of related supervisory experience. Other permanent and temporary appointments will be made as needed. Successful candidates will remain on the eligible list for a period of twelve-months, unless specified otherwise by the Civil Service Commission.
