The Senior Application Database Administrator plays a critical role in the development, management, and administration of APG databases. This position is responsible for designing and implementing new data structures, managing existing databases, securing all data, and administering all Microsoft SQL Server database instances on Linux, Windows, and Amazon RDS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure 24/7 availability, security, and performance of mission-critical application databases across multiple platforms (SQL Server, MySQL, Amazon RDS).
- Design, implement, and optimize high-quality data structures and schemas to meet business needs and support specific applications.
- Architect and consolidate data from multiple sources into cohesive, accessible structures.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex database issues, implementing performance improvements as needed.
- Manage database security, access control, and data distribution to appropriate users.
- Collaborate with software developers and application teams to integrate efficient database requests into applications.
- Support and optimize complex SQL Server processes and SQLite database generation for mobile applications.
- Perform ad hoc reporting requiring advanced query skills.
- Document existing data models and transform raw data into actionable business intelligence.
- Become the resident expert on the data, how it is stored and used.
- Design, implement, and test backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures with minimal downtime.
- Lead database-related projects for application upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
- Manage and refresh test data for application development teams.
- Empower business users through SQL training, report generation, and transition of routine tasks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a computer discipline or relevant certifications.
- 10+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server database administration.
- Experience as a standalone DBA, willing to work independently, drive critical efforts, and plan and manage work.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server data backup, recovery, security, and integrity.
- Experience implementing complex stored procedures, reports, and queries.
- Experience with database design and development.
- Experience administering SQL Server on Linux is a plus.
- Experience administering SQL Server on Amazon RDS is a plus.
- Experience with third-party tools such as Redgate SQL Compare and SQL Data Compare.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Compensation:
- Estimated annual base pay: $121,000.00 (minimum) - $151,000.00 (midpoint) - $181,000.00 (maximum)
