As part of Capital Markets for Sotheby's Financial Services, you will be a key member of the SFS team working to evolve the business from a full-service financial services organization to a leading tech-enabled lending platform. Capital Markets is responsible for managing SFS's existing funding framework and its continued development. As an Associate, you will be a core member of a rapidly growing business and significant contributor to the funding strategy of the business.

The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial attitude and a desire to combine their financial services experience with innovation. You can think analytically, and handle multiple simultaneous workstreams/projects. You are comfortable communicating with external parties and collaborating cross functionally.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Play a key role in planning and execution of various financing transactions, including securitizations and warehouse facilities
  • Prepare investor and lender-facing materials for diligence sessions, deal roadshows, and industry conferences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams–including legal, finance, servicing, and originations–on new initiatives and their impact on capital markets funding
  • Prepare and maintain loan portfolio and performance data to contribute to the ongoing management of SFS funding facilities
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders to field ad-hoc requests or investor inquiries
  • Perform data analysis and draw conclusions to support senior management strategic planning
  • Review and improve processes to ensure seamless ongoing management of the SFS capital markets ecosystem

IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

  • A bachelor's degree in a finance/business, economics, math or similar degree
  • 2+ years of Capital Markets and / or financial services experience in Structured Credit preferred
  • Exposure to capital markets and securitization/ABS markets
  • Experience working on asset-based financing transactions; familiarity with rating agency methodologies and transaction structure + documentation a plus
  • Strong logical and analytical skills
  • Advanced excel skills with ability to analyze complex data sets; modeling experience a plus
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to think critically and thrive in a fast-paced dynamic, and often ambiguous work environment

The proposed base salary for this position ranges from $120,000-$160,000. In addition to base salary successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus, as well as a competitive benefits package. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
