Position Summary
This position provides a critical role in maintaining and enforcing community standards, working closely with the Vice Dean and Executive Committee. Responsibilities include investigating conduct complaints and assisting in prosecuting conduct violations of University and Law School policies. Serve as primary Law School liaison to University for Title VI and Title IX compliance and coordination as appropriate. Communicate and clarify policies and procedures to a broad range of stakeholders, including students, attorneys, faculty, and administrators. Assist in the maintenance, tracking, and reporting on student community standards records. Coordinate and provide technical direction for activities in the assessment, research, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of various data and information. Stay abreast of state and national trends and issues in student conduct and assessment. Working with the Dean of Students and the Vice Dean, develop and oversee the delivery of marketing and educational initiatives by creating and coordinating programs, activities, and web resources to effectively educate students and other community members on conduct policies, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications
Required Education:Master's Degree in Higher Education, Counseling or equivalentPreferred Education:Juris Doctorate (J.D.)Required Experience:5+ years in student conduct, student affairs and crisis intervention, and/or legal field, or equivalent combination.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Outstanding writing skills. Ability to exercise superior judgment and discretion, as well as maintain integrity and confidences. Proven ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail; proven ability to communicate with senior level administrators in colleges/schools and other administrative units of the University. Ability to develop and coordinate programs for students and administrators.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge of Title VI and Title IX preferred.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $90,000.00 to USD $110,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
