Description: Job Posting: Senior Associate – Real Estate PracticeLocation: Boston, Connecticut, or New York office locationsPosition OverviewOur client, a respected mid-size law firm renowned for high-quality, sophisticated legal work and a strong commitment to work-life balance, is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join its Real Estate Practice. The firm fosters an entrepreneurial environment with a real path to partnership, offering associates the opportunity to build their practice while contributing to the firm's continued growth.Key ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients, including companies, developers, franchisees, investors, and other entities, in complex real estate matters.Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases, including retail, office, industrial, and mixed-use properties.Manage transactions involving the acquisition, disposition, development, and financing of commercial properties.Provide counsel on franchise and distribution matters, including reviewing and negotiating franchise agreements, renewals, and transfers.Oversee general corporate real estate matters and tasks, including asset acquisitions and corporate governance.Collaborate with clients and internal teams to structure and close sophisticated real estate transactions.Mentor junior associates and contribute to the overall growth of the Real Estate Practice Group.Preferred Experience and Skills5–10 years of experience in sophisticated real estate transactions, including substantial expertise in commercial leasing.Strong background in franchise law, particularly representing franchisees in agreements, transfers, and renewals.Demonstrated ability to independently handle complex acquisition, disposition, development, and financing projects.Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with meticulous attention to detail.Proven track record of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and clients.Exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.QualificationsJ.D. from a top-tier law school with excellent academic credentials.Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction (New York, Connecticut, or Massachusetts preferred).A highly motivated self-starter capable of working independently and meeting deadlines.Commitment to client service and delivering practical, results-driven solutions.Benefits and CompensationSalary Range: $180K - $235K, based on experience.Bonuses: Additional compensation for exceeding billable hours expectations.Billable Hours Expectation: 1800 hours annually, with 150 hours applicable toward pro bono or DEI work.Benefits Package:Comprehensive medical, dental, and life insurance.Short-term and long-term disability insurance.Commuting expense benefits plan.401(k) savings plan.4 weeks of vacation/benefit time.Why Join?This role offers the opportunity to engage in sophisticated legal work within a firm that values a balanced lifestyle.
