Hazen is seeking candidates for a Sr. Associate position focused on structural and waterways engineering and project management. Candidate will be involved with a wide range of projects to include planning, design, permitting, and construction of structures in the 'water space' (i.e. drinking water, wastewater, water resources, conveyance, canals and ports). Candidate shall be capable of supervising junior staff and managing projects. Candidate shall also be able to lead business development activities including preparation of proposals and presentations.The position will include client development, project management, technical leadership and staff mentoring in the Northeast and Midwest. Primary focus will be projects in Upstate NY and PA. Fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travel.Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Prospective applicants must have more than 15 years of structural design experience. Prospective applicants must also have a Professional Engineering (PE) license, or ability to obtain such, in the State of New York. Multiple state registrations are preferred.
- This position will require skills in the analysis, design, and construction of environmental structures such as Industrial Buildings, Pump Stations, Process Basins, and Treatment Facilities. The selected individual will lead the structural design and construction administration responsibilities for major projects usually involving upgrades to wastewater, drinking water and reclaimed water treatment plants.
- Experience in design and construction of structural steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, and aluminum is required as well as knowledge of applicable building codes, design standards including ACI, AISC, ASCE, and structural analysis and design software.
- Candidates must be effective communicators and be able to successfully work in a multi-discipline team environment.
- Candidate will play a key role in significant infrastructure projects in the greater Buffalo area
Educational Requirements:
- BS degree in Civil Engineering (with a Structural Concentration) or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
