Our workplace embraces diversity and inclusion – it's a place where you can grow, belong and thrive.Your day at NTT DATAThe role of Senior Automation Engineer is to research, develop, design, and build automated systems and/or applications that are implemented to perform a variety of tasks reducing the need for human intervention in order to maximize efficiency in IT and OT spaces.What you'll be doingESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborate with internal stakeholders as well as external partners to identify opportunities to solve problems through technological advancementsWork on custom automation solutions to support the business area / teamImplement automated system and / or application improvements with measurable results in revenue, and / or qualityProgram, configure, and integrate new technology into an existing system and / or applicationProvide technical direction and support/training to more junior engineersAssist in planning, organizing, monitoring, and oversight of all phases of test automationPrepare reports summarizing information or trends related to automationDevelop and document process for internal automation and development projectsActively support/solve intensified issues from both internal and external clientsActively participate in design and code reviews from functional teamsActively work with internal or external clients to optimize the automation performance to deliver contracted KPIsAssist in scheduling and defining resource needs for testingLead the auditing of all current lab processes to identify opportunities for further automationDevelop and execute performance test scripts specific to business requirementsTake lead in develop resilient continuous integration and delivery automation pipelinesPerform/lead test execution for both project and support related activitiesExplore and implement new ways to automate systems and / or applicationsMentor junior Automation EngineersSet automation standards and provide input to tool evaluation and selectionKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESExcellent and proficiency in maintaining building automation systems and / or applicationsExcellent understanding of computer programming and software developmentAbility to troubleshoot technology and perform complex system testsExcellent problem-solving skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailCreative thinking skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent analytical skillsAbility to communicate well with other members of the development teamAbility to keep up with the latest technologiesA desire to continually upgrade technical knowledge#GlobalDataCentersCareersEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or similar fieldProgramming/scripting languages such as Python, Java, or C#Experience with Ignition SCADA within industrial automation, BMS, & EPMS systemsAdvanced understanding of SCADA design, deployment, and testingAdvanced demonstrated project management experienceAdvanced understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and methodologies.Advanced programming and scripting skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C#.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSPrimarily walking, sitting, standing, and bending.Able to hear and speak on a telephone.Close visual work on a computer terminal.Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required to operate computer keyboard, mouse, other technical instruments, and for performing cable terminations and testing.WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTSThis position is expected to be remote for the near future with an occasional need to be on-site in a shared work environmentExtensive daily usage of workstation or computer.Must be available for 24x7 support of customers and NTT GDC Americas, Inc.Some travel as required. Travel requirements may vary based on the frequency and intensity of remote site operations.Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver's license.This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location.
