Department Summary The UNT Kristin Farmer Autism Center (KFAC) conducts evidence-based direct services, research, and training to positively impact individuals with autism spectrum disorders, their families, and the community. Position Overview This is a senior-level Behavior Technician position requiring advanced training and experience providing direct and indirect services to clients with autism under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The Sr. Behavior Technician (SBT position is responsible for coordinating with the BCBA to conduct daily program maintenance activities, including data analyses of programming and assessments, implementing skill acquisition and behavior reduction procedures, and documenting and reporting outcomes. SBTs will recommend specific courses of action to the Behavior Analyst and may independently conduct parent training/update meetings. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree or graduate courses in special education, applied behavior analysis, child development/psychology or related major and a 2 years' of experience providing direct services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Advanced understanding of autism spectrum disorder and evidence-based intervention and training practices. Demonstrated effectiveness working with individuals with ASD. Ability to serve as a leader or co-leader of a multi-disciplinary team in making decisions regarding client programming and assessment. Ability to be patient, flexible, versatile, and cope with stressful situations. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree or graduate courses in special education, applied behavior analysis, child development/psychology or related major and a 2 years' experience providing direct services for individuals with autism spectrum disorder. Required License/Registration/Certifications Must be a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). RBT certification must be maintained. Job Duties: Follows UNT and departmental policies and procedures, legal requirements, verbal/written directives, and Professional Codes of Ethics and Standards. Models core organizational beliefs, values, and expectations. Attends and participates in staff meetings, trainings, and special events as required. Oversees the staff scheduling for assigned program. Directly implements individualized skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans developed by the Behavior Analyst with accuracy and fidelity. Assists in the development and oversight of client Individual Treatment Plans under the supervision of the Behavior Analyst by conducting assessments, following KFAC clinical standards, and individualizing activities to client needs. Prepares client materials including the development of protocols and data sheets for skill acquisition programs and behavior reduction plans following evidence-based practices and BACB guidelines for ethical practice. Ensures accurate data collection and analysis by developing accurate, reliable data collection for progress monitoring and overseeing data collection and graphing of others. Prepares and delivers written and verbal summaries of client progress for parents and promotes family involvement in client programs through provision of parent training. Provides relevant, timely inputs to the Behavior Analyst including written and verbal reports of client progress and completion of administrative records. In collaboration with the Behavior Analyst, instructs and supervises full-time and part-time Behavior Technicians in the effective delivery of behavioral interventions through training, modeling, and feedback on instructional effectiveness and performance.
