Job Description:
We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our benefits team! As a Senior Benefits Analyst your program responsibilities will include assisting the Benefits and Leave Manager with benefit program administration, analyzing and reporting data, managing the wellness program and administering the ADA and leaves program. To be successful in this role, it is important to have specialized knowledge of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA and it amendment), the state of Colorado and local leave laws, and short and long-term disability plans.We seek a team member who exhibits mindfulness while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. The successful applicant will be entrusted with confidential information and expected to actively listen and demonstrate emotional intelligence while engaging with employees and their supervisors.

Hiring salary is dependent upon experience. The hiring range for this position is $80,753.40 - $89,726 /annual.

A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, a Social Science, or other aligned degree and two (2) years of professional Human Resources experience directly related to the position. OR An Associate degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, a Social Science or other aligned degree and four (4) years of professional Human Resources experience directly related to the position. OR A high school diploma/GED and six (6) years of professional-level human resources experience directly related to the position.An equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of:
  • the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA and the ADA Amendment of 2008, and other applicable laws
  • federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations governing employers and employees
  • handling confidential information
  • operations, functions, and scope of authority of all City departments
  • database reporting tools
  • spelling, grammar, punctuation, and proper word usage
Skill in:
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, time management and priority-setting skills
  • utilizing active listening and emotional intelligence when interacting with employees and their supervisors
  • computer software applications to compile, analyze, and report statistical information
  • prioritize projects and tasks and meet deadlines
  • promote a culture of teamwork and communication by working in collaboration and treating coworkers with respect and dignity and maintaining an open mind to diverse voices and ideas
Ability to:
  • preserve confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.
  • research policies and compliance literature – interpreting and translating knowledge to a non-policy savvy audience
  • identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  • prepare documents conforming to regulatory standards
