Employee Type:RegularWork Shift:Day - 8 hour shift (United States of America)Join Team Tidelands and help people live better lives through better health!Position Summary: The Biomedical Equipment Technician maintains clinical equipment through the effective use if the Medical Equipment Management Plan, as guided by the Director of Clinical Engineering. Performs a variety of tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of complex medical equipment. Provides technical guidance to other Biomedical Equipment Technicians within the department. Coordinates special projects and performs specialized technical tasks.Education: Associates degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Electronics Technology from a two year college, technical school, or equivalent experience, required. Experience/Certification: Minimum of 7 years of experience servicing medical equipment. Professional certification through the American College of Clinical Engineering or Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, required.Requirements: •Advance knowledge of biomedical/electronic test equipment•Knows principles and function of electricity/electronics.•Knows how to use MS Office and other computer applications.•Knows various types of medical equipment and medical terminology.•Holds technical service certification from at least one medical device manufacture.•two (2) years supervisory experience in a hospital biomedical engineering department or a full service biomedical service company.Not Required (recommended):•Knowledge of computers and networks•Imaging or Anesthesia service training/hands on experience•Project management experience Physical Requirements: Medium While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear.
