Duties
As a Senior Budget Analyst, Schedule A Repository (Public Notice Flyer), you will perform the following duties:
* Performs the full range of budget analysis assignments to include formulate, execute, manage, and coordinate the budget for the MBDA.
* Prepares narrative justifications describing MBDA programs for use in budget submissions. Prepares monthly status of funds and reconciliations. Reviews bill payments to ensure accuracy.
* Serves as the principal administrative advisor with operational responsibilities for budget, procurement, personnel, and/or other administrative functions.
* Coaches the team members in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques. Provides advice on work methods, practices, and procedures, and assist the team and/or individual members in identifying the parameters of a viable solution.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
In order to qualify, applicants must be eligible for appointment under Schedule A.
To qualify at the GS-13 level:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
* Formulates, executing, and managing the annual budget of an organization or business;
* Develops and/or drafting justification statements to support requested annual appropriations; AND
* Serves as an advisor to senior management on budget and financial management programs, policies, and procedures within an organization or business.
