Flagship Lab Services is seeking a Senior Building Engineer to join our dynamic and growing division in Durham, NC! As a representative for our company, you will be responsible for assisting with troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs on buildings which includes general maintenance, repair, HVAC, and electrical. The clients portfolio is in the Raleigh/Durham area which is home to the largest concentration of diverse research, Life Sciences, and educational institutions. The successful candidate will be able to operate in a dynamic and fast paced environment while regular interfacing with key client contacts. Job Summary

The Senior Building Engineer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of building systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. This role requires a strong technical background in HVAC/R systems, experience leading and managing a team, and experience working with BMS/BAS systems. The Senior Building Engineer will utilize precision measuring instruments and schematics to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.

Duties

  • Manage and maintain HVAC systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct regular inspections of building systems to identify potential issues and implement preventive maintenance.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments and voltmeters to assess system performance.
  • Fabricate components as necessary to support system repairs or modifications.
  • Collaborate with technical sales teams to provide insights on system capabilities and enhancements.
  • Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and maintenance staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards within the manufacturing facility.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in HVAC/R systems maintenance and repair.
  • Mechanical Expertise.
  • BMS/BAS knowledge.
  • 10-20 years experience in commercial buildings.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring instruments, including voltmeters.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics effectively.
  • Field service experience is a plus, demonstrating hands-on problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
