Essential Functions
- Assists the Community Center Coordinator with activities, special events and the dining programs.
- Prepares room set up and break down.
- Maintains database for attendance, volunteer rosters, hours, and activities.
- Assists with clients, volunteer training, outreach, answering phones and client assessments.
- Assists in the delivery of home delivered meals and fills in at community centers when coverage is necessary, as needed and may require working an 8-hour day.
- Fills in for Community Center Coordinator when he/she is scheduled out of the office.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum RequirementsEducation, Training, and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent or specialized vocational training.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration, Skills
- Valid Florida Driver License (or must obtain within 30 days of establishing residency in Florida), or valid Florida Identification Card is acceptable only for positions not required to drive a county vehicle.
- Successful completion of Level II Background screening is required.
- Requires ability to maintain courteous and effective relations with County staff, elected officials, community interest groups and the public.
- Must have strong working knowledge of computers and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of Products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Must have or be able to obtain within 90 days certification in FEMA National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses:
- IS-100.c: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS); and
- IS-700.b: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
- The job involves frequent lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 20 pounds.
- The job requires frequent balancing, and occasional bending and squatting.
- The job requires the completion of tasks that involve typing and simple grasping.
- The job requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, depth perception and color vision, hearing, and speaking.
- The job may risk exposure to adverse weather, moving machinery, fumes and gases, electrical hazards, unprotected heights, and extreme noise.

Emergency Response/Recovery Activities
