Job Description:
Overview The Senior Centers Lead manages the overall operations of the Senior Centers and maintain the overall building maintenance. This includes the development of a wide range of nutritional, recreational physical and social services (such as benefits counseling information and referrals) that aid in the overall wellbeing of the general elderly community. Responsibilities Ensure that the center is fully operational at all times and responsible for the opening and closing of the facility daily Train, evaluate and monitor employee and volunteer performance Oversee all administrative functions including maintaining personal records, evaluations and payroll time sheets Oversee all facets of client tracking information, verify daily meal counts and reconcile meal rosters Supervise the daily meal contribution system and monitors all food safety and sanitation procedures Develop programs which are responsive to the needs and interest of the elderly in the community Assists with annual programs, evaluation, and summary. TDOA/AAA monitoring visits and report findings Outreach (home and hospital), home visit emergency transportation escort, counseling personal assistance advocacy, case management, telephone reassurance Assessment of benefits counseling, referrals, follow-up and information and home delivered meals Provide direct social services designed to seek and identify for the isolated minority and economically disadvantaged Determine and implement a public relations program and communication network that disseminates relevant information to member's departmental decisions, community, governmental and civic sources May be asked to perform other duties as assigned Position Type and Typical Hours of Work Non-Exempt - Full-Time Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services. Qualifications High School Diploma / GED Two (2) years of experience Licenses and Certifications Required Food Managers certification First Aid, CPR, & AED certification Benefits Counseling certification Defensive Driving certification A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire Employment Testing Employment is contingent on passing any post-offer pre-employment screening as listed below: Criminal Background Check: Yes Motor Vehicle Record Check: Yes Drug Screening: Yes Physical Exam: Yes Basis of Rating A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications and may request additional information. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
