You'll join a team of talented and passionate people who are motivated to make our community as strong and resilient as possible.POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Center Manager is responsible for the management of all aspects of Senior Center programs, including staff, volunteers, community dining, activities, education, wellness, and exercise; assistance with public relations and community development projects. If applicable to the respective site, management of the Meals on Wheels Program and staff (MOW), and assistance with outreach luncheons. PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITES:
- Conducts day-to-day operations of the Senior Center including community dining, activities, and programs. If applicable to the site, also oversees day-to-day operations of MOW, and provides assistance with outreach luncheons.
- Recruits, trains, and supervises staff and volunteers for the Meals on Wheels program and community dining.
- Oversees the operations of the community dining meal.
- Maintains accurate records and submits timely reports.
- Manages staff documentation that require meal counts, reporting procedures, and meal/supply requests.
- Organizes programs to encourage personal growth, independence, and community involvement in the areas of recreation, socialization, and education.
- Maintains current information on resources, services, and program options.
- Will market the services of the Mid-State Transportation Services in the community where MST is available.
- Establishes and maintains direct communication with other social service agencies to provide a continuum of services for older adults.
- Maintains compliance with health, food safety, and portion control standards for meal service. Maintains trainings for all staff on food safety.
- Utilize ServTracker software program, which will assist in tracking meal reservations, weekly activities, attendance, and MOW routes.
- Develops and maintains a computer learning center on-site, as applicable.
- Acts as an advocate for older adults and people with disabilities seeking or in need of assistance.
- Communicates with local officials and gains support from both public and private sectors.
- Establishes volunteer system for the senior center including recruiting, training, supervision, and recognition, as well as tracking and reporting volunteer hours.
- Collects and makes daily deposit for meal donations and completes appropriate cash report. Completes the on-site cash report for deposits and expenditures, providing the appropriate backup documentation.
- Interviews all site participants to determine eligibility for the meal program.
- Completes CPR certification and ServSafe Food Safety Training to maintain certification.
- Maintains communication with outreach luncheon coordinators/volunteers and helps with paperwork and deposits when assigned. Assist with delivery and serving as needed.
- Attends trainings, meetings and workshops as required.
- Develops and supports fundraising for the center as well as for the department.
- Assists in fundraising activities, as requested.
- Conducts intake procedures with potential MOW participants to determine eligibility.

Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Experience:
- Three years of experience in social work, administration, or management, including supervision of staff.
- Knowledge of community support services.
- Some supervisory experience and the ability to work effectively with older adults.
- Ability to coordinate numerous and diverse activities, programs, and recreational trips.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn ServTracker, our program tracking software.
- Some budgeting or financial management experience.
Education:
- Associate's degree in human services or related field. Education requirement may be substituted with additional years of related experience; to be determined by the director of Elder Services.
License/Certification:
- Successful completion of criminal record check.
- Valid driver's license with access to reliable transportation for required travel.
