Job Title Senior Civil Design Engineer Location Hirani Corporate Office - Hicksville, NY 11801 US (Primary) Job Type Full-time Category Architecture and Engineering Travel 0 - 25% Job Description We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Design Engineer to join our clients at New York and contribute to their ongoing project As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and managing the design process for our clients' projects. You will work closely with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, develop design concepts, and oversee the preparation of detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports. You will also provide technical expertise, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers and design team members to ensure high-quality design deliverables and successful project outcomes. Job Responsibilities 1. Lead and manage the design process for projects, including conceptual design, detailed design, and construction documentation, while ensuring compliance with project requirements, specifications, and applicable codes, regulations, and standards. 2. Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project goals, objectives, and scope, and ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the design process. 3. Provide technical expertise and engineering support in areas such as structural design, geotechnical engineering, construction materials, and construction technology to ensure optimal design solutions. 4. Develop and review design calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports, and ensure that they are accurate, complete, and in compliance with applicable standards and requirements. 5. Manage project risks and issues related to design, and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively to minimize project delays, cost overruns, and quality issues. 6. Monitor design progress, schedule, and budget, and provide regular updates and reports to clients, project managers, and other relevant parties. 7. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and design team members, including reviewing their work, providing feedback, and fostering their professional development. 8. Collaborate with other design disciplines, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure that design coordination is effectively managed and design interfaces are resolved. 9. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in design engineering, and apply them to enhance design processes and outcomes. Proficient in using design software and tools such as AutoCAD, REVIT, and other relevant design software. 7. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and design team members. 8. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, guide, and supervise junior engineers and design team members. 9. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. 10. Knowledge of local design codes, regulations, and standards applicable to construction projects in New York.
