With a strong focus on technical excellence, collaboration, and client satisfaction, S&ME is seeking a full-time Senior Civil Engineer to join our Energy team in Atlanta, Georgia. Join us at S&ME!

About The Role:

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will leverage your extensive expertise in design and project management to lead and execute a diverse range of complex civil engineering projects. These may include natural gas pipelines, electrical distribution and transmission systems, renewable energy infrastructures, dams, water resource management, stream restoration, landfill engineering, and mining facility development.

  • Lead Project Management: Own the project lifecycle, ensuring client satisfaction, budget adherence, and regulatory compliance, from concept to completion, while upholding top-tier quality and safety standards.
  • Coordinate Multidisciplinary Teams: Guide and collaborate with local and remote teams; effective communication and cross-functional team management are key to project success.
  • Innovate and Optimize Designs: Leverage technical expertise to drive innovation, optimize design processes, and ensure practical engineering solutions, addressing complex challenges for sustainable, cost-effective results across all projects.
  • Mentor and Develop Talent: Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to foster growth. Play a key role in building a high-performing team through shared expertise and continuous development.
  • Ensure Compliance and Standards: Ensure all projects comply with industry standards, codes, regulations, and company policies, maintaining adherence to legal, environmental, and best practice guidelines.
  • Client Management: Identify, develop, and maintain strong client relationships, promoting positive experiences and driving profitable opportunities.

About You:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering or an appropriate technical field, Master's degree is a plus.
  • You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering.
  • You have a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • You have experience managing multi-disciplined teams with excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer skills, and are well-organized.
  • You have experience in client development and proposal writing.
  • You have experience working with Southern Company, a plus.
  • You have the ability to develop and lead a design team possessing a strong work ethic and the ability to work as a TEAM player.
