In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Portfolio Managers to analyse, interpret and forecast global oil commodities markets and trends, while generating strategic commodity ideas based on fundamental research and data analysis. This role offers significant growth opportunities where successful candidates will gradually assume greater responsibility in shaping key investment decisions, with the long-term goal of growing into a Portfolio Manager position. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for commodities markets, a strong analytical mindset, and the drive to influence key investment decisions.

Your role:

  • Develop investment ideas by conducting thorough fundamental research and data-driven analysis.
  • Build detailed fundamental oil supply and demand models.
  • Develop and expand analytics tools and processes while staying on top of market research and insights.
  • Analyse data from the oil markets and produce ad hoc analysis based on short-term market developments.
  • Evaluate and improve data quality.

Experience/skills required:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in statistics, mathematics, computer science, finance or economics.
  • Hands-on experience in the North American commodities market, either within the industry or in an advisory role.
  • High GPA/ 1st Class Hons degree.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of financial modeling, specifically using Python and/or VBA, Matlab.
  • Proven track record of meeting challenging objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
