Job Description:
Position Information Hiring Manager: Director of Strategic Communications Department: Marketing Position Responsibilities The Senior Communications Manager will support the execution of external and select internal communications, working closely with Communications Team members to position the Firm as a market-leader in its core business areas and as an employer of choice. They will also collaborate and coordinate with the Firm's external PR firm, Marketing Team members and executives in the business to execute programs for the Firm as well as ensuring consistent reporting on results and against KPIs and other metrics. This role presents an opportunity for a collegiate and thoughtful candidate to grow and take on more responsibility over time, drive needle moving activity for the Firm and work closely with the Marketing Team to ensure internal and external messaging alignment across the Firm. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Support the Director of Strategic Communications with the development and implementation of multi-channel external and internal communications plans in alignment with Firm and business line goals including:
    • Highlighting the Firm's value proposition to existing and prospective investors, sponsors, financing partners and employees via media and communications initiatives
    • Supporting ideation of and the communication for planned activity that promotes Golub Capital as an employer of choice - both for existing and prospective employees
  • Support the Firm's Corporate Communications and PR strategy to be more efficient and focused on what moves the needle.
  • Support the day-to-day execution of the Corporate Communications / PR program
  • Help identify points of connectivity between external and internal communications campaigns and tactics to deliver cohesive plans and repurpose content for high impact
  • Ensure attention to detail on all communications and ensuring the timely delivery of campaigns at a Gold Standard level and in alignment with Firm and departmental goals
  • Support the Firm's international media relations and multidisciplinary communications efforts both in terms of securing opportunities, preparing executives and moderating interviews
  • Support the Firm's speaker roster, ensuring impactful messaging and preparation for public speaking opportunities
  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis and regular reporting internally on the Firm's brand positioning to the Director of Strategic Communications and Head of Marketing
  • Share industry intel and examples of communications best practices, trends and technologies for consideration to make recommendations to the Director of Strategic Communications for new tools and initiatives that will streamline and enhance work product and efforts
  • Partner with the Firm's external PR agency to generate compelling results and opportunities that raise brand awareness
  • Measure and report on effectiveness of campaigns, working in tandem with the PR agency and the Director of Strategic Communications
  • Oversee daily firmwide media coverage ensuring stakeholders are up to date with the latest information about the Firm in the market
  • Manage, in partnership with other members of the Communications team, the Firmwide daily media scan and press office
  • Support selective internal communications for internal communications and draft content for inclusion in a variety of assets including internal quarterly newsletters, postings on the Firm intranet, firmwide emails and presentations
Candidate Requirements Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 8-10 years of experience either agency side or in-house in a similar communications or PR role within financial services
  • A holistic approach to communications (both traditional and social forms) with an understanding of the most impactful channels to engage with campaign audiences
  • Advanced writing capabilities with a demonstrated ability to develop clear and compelling content with precision
  • Experience interfacing and developing strong relationships with reporters and media outlets
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects with quick turnaround times and coordination with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Compensation and Benefits For New York Only: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be . Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered.
