HIRING RANGE: $2,330.44 - $2,854.89 Bi-Weekly

FULL SALARY RANGE: $2,330.44 - $3,379.33 Bi-Weekly

The Senior Communication Specialist creates strategic and engaging web content, social media updates, newsletters, and other communication materials that connect residents with City programs and services. This position supports the goals of the Public and Media Relations Office through transparent and empathetic communication, keen analytical skills, and collaborative project management. This position does not supervise other employees.

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.

* Create, update and audit City website and mobile app content for accuracy, relevance, and ADA compliance. Use analytics to improve site traffic, functionality and design. Promptly address technical issues, broken links and outdated information.

* Work with City departments to plan and update website and mobile app content, train staff on best practices and manage content requests responsively and efficiently.

* Oversee City social media profiles, respond to public comments, moderate user content and assist with crisis communication. Analyze social media metrics to refine strategies and improve engagement.

* Write clear, engaging content for social media, newsletters, websites, print materials and public statements, with a focus on transparency, accessibility and user-centered storytelling.

* Lead communication projects from start to finish, coordinating with internal teams and external partners. Track and report on project metrics, adapting strategies to meet community needs.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with minimum of three (3) years of experience in communication, marketing or related field.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Knowledge of:

* Website content management systems, especially Revize and Microsoft SharePoint.

* Proficiency with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), ADA compliance, social media platforms and email marketing tools.

* Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe) are a plus.

Skill in:

* Strong, journalistic writing focused on clarity, conciseness and relevance.

* Designing user-focused content that is accessible and meets diverse needs.

* Experience in managing multiple projects with attention to quality and deadlines.

* Operating a computer utilizing a variety of business software.
