Position Overview:We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Manager for a prestigious Dam and Tunnel project in California. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in heavy civil engineering, with a specific focus on tunnel design and construction. This role demands a professional who can ensure the highest standards of engineering excellence, safety, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:Project Oversight:- Lead and oversee all engineering aspects of the dam and tunnel project.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
Design and Construction:- Supervise and provide technical guidance on tunnel design and construction.
- Coordinate with design teams to review and approve design plans and specifications.
Compliance and Safety:- Ensure all activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Stakeholder Management:- Act as the primary point of contact between the client, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication across all parties involved in the project.
Quality Control:- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure quality standards.
- Identify and address any issues or deviations from the project plan promptly.
Documentation and Reporting:- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and prepare detailed progress reports.
- Present project updates to senior management and clients as required.
Problem-Solving:- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Resolve any technical issues that arise during the construction process.
Qualifications:- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant specialization is preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy civil engineering with a focus on tunnel / dam construction.
- Proven experience working on dam projects and managing large-scale engineering projects.
- Certifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California is preferred. North American PE license could be considered.
- Additional certifications in project management or safety are advantageous.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in engineering software and tools.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies and best practices.
