Senior Construction Manager - Dam and Tunnel ProjectLocation: California, USASalary Range: $200,000 - $220,000 per annumEmployment Type: Full-time Position Overview:We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Manager for a prestigious Dam and Tunnel project in California. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in heavy civil engineering, with a specific focus on tunnel design and construction. This role demands a professional who can ensure the highest standards of engineering excellence, safety, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Oversight:
    • Lead and oversee all engineering aspects of the dam and tunnel project.
    • Ensure adherence to project timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
  • Design and Construction:
    • Supervise and provide technical guidance on tunnel design and construction.
    • Coordinate with design teams to review and approve design plans and specifications.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure all activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Implement and monitor safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Act as the primary point of contact between the client, contractors, and other stakeholders.
    • Facilitate clear and effective communication across all parties involved in the project.
  • Quality Control:
    • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure quality standards.
    • Identify and address any issues or deviations from the project plan promptly.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and prepare detailed progress reports.
    • Present project updates to senior management and clients as required.
  • Problem-Solving:
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Resolve any technical issues that arise during the construction process.
  • Qualifications:
    • Education:
      • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
      • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant specialization is preferred.
    • Experience:
      • Minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy civil engineering with a focus on tunnel / dam construction.
      • Proven experience working on dam projects and managing large-scale engineering projects.
    • Certifications:
      • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California is preferred. North American PE license could be considered.
      • Additional certifications in project management or safety are advantageous.
    • Skills:
      • Strong leadership and project management skills.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Proficient in engineering software and tools.
      • In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies and best practices.
