Overview:

This position reports to the Director of Finance and is responsible for supporting the production and reconciliation of financial statements, ad-hoc reporting, and month-end reports for Mercy Clinic – Springfield. This position is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and presenting financial information to support operational and strategic decision making. The Sr. Consultant Finance will provide services to the department in a timely and efficient manner and will perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Position requires a minimum of five years accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Other:
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups including senior leaders.
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Ability to effectively guide co-workers and lead team in completing
  • Knowledge of proper financial statement formats and disclosures required under
  • Computer literacy with intermediate skills in Microsoft
  • Ability to work independently to meet project

• Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Preferred Experience:
  • Healthcare financial reporting experience.
  • Lawson financial system experience.
• Preferred Other:
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Access or similar database program.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Self-driven and independent, demonstrating an ability to work with minimal supervision to accomplish and carry out goals/objectives.

Job Description:

Supports the development of community financial plans and their consolidation and integration with the Mercy financial plan. Ensures that all plans are prepared and developed in a consistent manner across Mercy. Guides and supports entity leadership in the use and interpretation of financial analyses. Conducts research by accumulating data and conducting analyses, as requested, by various Mercy and community departments for presentation to community leadership. Participates in the business planning process associated with the development of or the reconfiguration of existing service lines and participates in Mercy or community specific initiatives that promote the expansion of existing services or the research and development of new business opportunities. Completes special projects as directed by Director of Finance.
