Complies with internal policies and procedures. Works closely with the Group Purchasing Organization and Corporate Value Analysis Program Directors on sourcing initiatives. Coordinates contracts that cross the corporation's Acute Care and Behavioral Health facilities. Reviews the terms and conditions of local facility contracts to ensure terms and pricing are favorable and in compliance with UHS Legal specifications. Collaborates with the facilities and all key stakeholders on every aspect of the department's functions. Key Responsibilities include:
- Performs all sourcing related activities following strict sourcing guidelines and utilizing prescribed sourcing methodologies.
- Develops and executes sourcing or utilization related initiatives that generate annualized cost reduction on total spend.
- Interacts with our national Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), manufacturers and our wholesalers/distributors to resolve contract-related issues.
- Negotiates new contracts or enhancements to existing contracts with account representatives. Attempts to convey such new contracts or enhancements through UHS' specified GPO, as available.
- Coordinates the review and routing of contracts per established procedures.
- Initiates, renews and handles expiration of contracts in a timely manner. Evaluates and prioritizes existing contracts for opportunities to improve contract benefits and/or reduce costs.
- Manages innovation in improving contracting processes; leading contract compliance; and contract performance.
- Facilitates quarterly business reviews with key suppliers to ensure alignment of goals and progress related to key initiatives.
- Leads implementation of completed agreements.
- Keeps abreast of advances in technology. Searches for and investigates alternative sources of supply. Maintains awareness of group purchasing contracts.
- Collects data to document cost savings and reports results. Contributes to the cost containment efforts by evaluation of prices, terms, quantity discounts, quality, and services.
Qualifications Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3-5 years sourcing/contracting experience.
- Broad knowledge of state of the art sourcing initiatives and programs.
- Proficient with modern contract administration concepts
- Strong leadership presence and Service Excellence Acumen required.
- Ability to analyze data.
- Proficient in computer applications such as relational databases, Excel, Access, McKesson PMM, SharePoint, PowerPoint and other related software.
- Projects a positive attitude. Needs to be efficient and effective in communication, recovery skills, and work ethic.
- Demonstrated teamwork, written and verbal communication and analytical skills.
