Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to design and implement control systems for robotics, conveyor/material handling, and other automation systems. This advanced engineering role requires extensive prior experience and technical expertise in automation and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customer requirements and develop control system designs to meet those needs.
  • Design, test, and implement automation systems for various applications.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including wiring schematics, assembly drawings, bills of material, and panel machining drawings.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure equipment meets design specifications and customer expectations.
  • Participate in customer and prospect presentations, collaborating with sales staff as needed.
  • Keep thorough records of each project from inception to completion.
  • Occasional travel, including international trips, may be required.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends related to Simplimatic products and services.
  • Ensure system functionality through proper operation, error recovery, and adherence to DFMEA guidelines.
  • Maintain the companys reputation for quality by adhering to safety regulations and standards.
  • Lead and mentor build technicians to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Continuously improve professional and technical skills by attending workshops, trade shows, and staying current with industry publications and networks.
  • Contribute to the success of the team by meeting project goals and supporting related tasks as needed.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in designing control systems for capital equipment.
  • Extensive experience in robotics and PLC programming, with the ability to design and program complex robotics applications from the ground up.
  • Proficiency with AB & Omron PLCs, HMI, and Servo Systems.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
