Kent, Beatty & Gordon, LLP, a sophisticated boutique commercial law firm founded in 1992, is seeking an experienced corporate attorney and an experienced real estate attorney to build upon, and soon lead, its existing corporate and real estate practices. The candidate would ideally join the firm as a partner, counsel or senior associate and should have significant experience running and closing sophisticated transactions, as well as either (i) an existing book of business that could be brought to the firm, or (ii), for candidates that are currently in-house, a demonstrated ability to generate new business.
Compensation will be competitive for a top-tier boutique firm and based on experience and qualifications, with higher earning potential driven by the candidate's ability to bring in and retain business.
We pride ourselves on providing excellent legal representation in a fun and collaborative workplace for attorneys who are looking to build and run a practice targeted toward sophisticated clientele, but without the red tape associated with larger firms.
Our corporate practice, currently headed by Harry C. Beatty, handles all aspects of corporate and other entity representation, and often directly counsels CEOs, COOs and CFOs, including in connection with the acquisition and sale of companies and businesses, the establishment of joint ventures and distribution arrangements, and loan agreements, private placements and other financing arrangements. We also regularly counsel and provide commercial and corporate planning and advice to entrepreneurs, small businesses and start-ups.
Our real estate practice, currently headed by Michael B. Kent, includes the acquisition, development and sale of commercial and residential properties, and mixed-use and multi-family properties. Our expertise in commercial leasing focuses on office and retail spaces, particularly restaurant, bar and nightclub leases. We support clients through the entire lifecycle of real estate development and construction projects, including assisting clients in obtaining financing and regulatory approvals.
We represent clients from an array of industries, but a significant portion of our practice is devoted to representing clients within the restaurant, food and alcohol and non-alcoholic beverage spaces, including several of the world's leading chefs, restaurants and brands, so experience in hospitality law is also a plus.
If you are interested in pursuing this opportunity, please send your resume and a summary of representative representations, together with a cover letter, to the firm's managing partner, Jack A. Gordon, at ...@KBG-law.com
