The Senior Counsel will primary be responsible for providing legal counsel and strategic guidance on a wide range of issues related to global trade. What you'll do:Advise the business on cross-border trade initiatives and transactions.Advise the business and compliance on the regulation of imports into the US, including Section 301 tariffs, country of origin, trade remedies, and Free Trade AgreementsAdvise the business and compliance on the BIS Entity List and other export controls.Advise the business and compliance on Marketplace issues.Identify the need for and overseeing outside legal support as required.Leverage technology to streamline processes, communication, and workflows. Proactively leverage preventative measures in the spirit of protecting stakeholders, customers, and employees.What you'll bring:A history of interacting with US agencies that regulate trade and knowledge of how such agencies operate.Experience with advising importers and exporters on applicable legal issues and practical concerns.Experience with the administrative-law procedures of federal agencies that regulate customs/trade.Experience with the agencies that regulate customs/trade in Mexico, Canada, India, China, and/or South America.A process-minded perspective as well as propensity to look for opportunities to streamline processes for improved efficiency and effectiveness.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Organization, discipline, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Substantial, diverse legal experience (e.g., combination of in-house, government, leading law firm, etc.)Empowering your business partners while working collaboratively to achieve cross-functional goals.About Walmart At Walmart, we help people save money so they can live better.
