Position Summary:
A Credit Officer will make credit decisions for an assigned cohort of Relationship Managers in accordance with Bank Credit Policy by efficiently and accurately analyzing credit risk of new and existing relationships. Credit Officers properly structure commercial and commercial real estate loans as well as monitor credit administration metrics such as delinquency, annual reviews, and financial covenants for their assigned Relationship Managers. A Credit Officer may manage assigned Credit Administration associates, providing guidance, support, and direction as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting; Specialized bank lending education and training.
Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in related positions
Advanced credit and portfolio analysis and management skills; strong knowledge of lending and credit principles, policies and practices; thorough knowledge of financial statement analysis; knowledge of current lending and collection laws and regulations; independent decision-making ability; independently productive; able to operate at a highly effective level with minimal day-to-day managerial direction; leadership and collaboration skills; unquestioned integrity; strong communication skills including the ability to write and present effectively.
Essential Duties:
Monitor the efficiency and accuracy of all analysis tasks, e.g., spreading financial statements; indicating financial, structural and other risks; file documentation and collateral review; etc.; works closely with Chief Credit Officer and Credit Administration staff to integrate activities, provide quality customer service, and enhance internal operations; assists with regulatory compliance efforts and monitors adherence to regulations; provides input on development of loan and credit policies and procedures for all types of loans; reviews existing credit relationships to detect possible deteriorating situations.
Make credit decisions on prospective and existing clients in accordance with Bank credit policies and within established lending authority limits. Use sound judgment in structuring commercial loan requests balancing credit risk management and loan production; implements strategies to achieve goals assigned to the department abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g., Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act); ensures that all department personnel adhere to the same.
