Job Title: Senior Data Analyst, Research and Data Analytics Salary Range: $60,000 to $75,000 At a Glance: Business Unit: Community Impact and Equity Home Department: Research and Data Analytics Worker Category: Full Time FLSA Code: Exempt EEOC Job Classification: Professionals Standard Hours: 75 Pay Grade: 6 Granted Funded Date: NA Summary: The Senior Data Analyst for Community Impact and Equity designs and develops methods and systems to consolidate and analyze a range of data sets to generate insights and solutions in support of the Research and Data Analytics Team. The Senior Data Analyst uses software programs, algorithms and statistical methods to analyze data and generate useful impact reports and data visualizations used to draw insights into primary and secondary data sources. Identifies, gathers, summarizes and analyzes data aligned to the UWRI's strategic pillars and community investments. Identifies and communicates any data related issues/recommendations to the team, so they can quickly develop a resolution. Independently utilizes text mining for unstructured data and utilizes advanced statistical analysis and predictive modeling procedures. Work with management to prioritize data and information needs. The Senior Data Analyst will oversee the implementation of special research and data projects as well as write issue and data briefs in conjunction with the Director of Research and Data Analytics. This position reports directly to the Director of Research and Data Analytics. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse data sources to generate actionable insights and data visualizations
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets and communicate insights and findings from analysis.
  • Consult with team to prioritize key data sources, conduct analysis, identify key performance indicators, and create dashboards, reports, and research briefs.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Design and develop solutions to make it easier for everyone to explore data, uncover new insights and take action.
  • Manage projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience; master's degree preferred.
  • At least three to five years of progressive experience in a similar role
  • Previous work experience as an analyst or a strong analytic background
  • Must have experience supporting, performing and reporting basic and advanced statistical analysis
  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis software such as SPSS, R, or Stata and data visualizations software such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Must have demonstrated and exceptional written and oral communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Must have demonstrated research and project management skills, possess a strong work ethic, enjoy working collaboratively, and be capable of working independently
  • Must be comfortable working in an executive, fast-paced office with tight deadlines. Confidentiality extremely important.
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment, and collaborate with cross functional teams to get desired results
  • Must have strong skills with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage and support time-sensitive and complex projects and to problem-solve
  • Keen attention to detail and experience producing professional, error-free reports and documents
  • Familiarity with behavioral, social science research, or public health practices a plus.
