By developing comprehensive PowerBI dashboards, the Analyst will facilitate informed decision-making and planning across various campus functions. Key responsibilities include executing projects involving data mining, analysis, dashboard creation, and effective presentation. This position is funded by a 5-year grant.Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical TasksProvide sophisticated output in the form of reports, analyses, research, and data.Work with operational analytical team and software developers to interpret data and statistical results to produce unique and compelling data visualizations.Work with multiple, large datasets to create analytic longitudinal datasets for analyses.Gather and integrate data from various sources including Oracle and other databases.Clean and preprocess data to ensure quality and accuracy.Design and create initial prototypes of interactive dashboards to visualize data effectively.Present dashboards to appropriate stakeholders (chairs, advisors, students, administrators).Develop and execute complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from relational databases.Work closely with UT System's Institutional Research and data team to align data initiatives and ensure data quality.Sit on the grant leadership team.Work with the registrar's office on undergraduate Patriots Advising reports.Train undergraduate advisors, department chairs, deans and centralized administration.Other duties as assigned.Required Education/ExperienceBachelor's degree in data analytics, business analytics, applied mathematics, computer science, or comparable discipline or from an industry approved credential (e.g., Google Data Analytics certificate).Five (5) years of experience in data analytics or dashboard creation.Data Analytics, data science, business analytics certificate or similar industry approved credential.May accept a combination of education and experience.Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and CompetenciesAdvanced proficiency in query-writing, data analytics, and dashboard generation.Must exercise confidentiality and discretion.Ability to effectively work on a small team.Ability to work independently without significant supervision.Advanced organizational and professional skills leading to successful and timely task completion.Proficiency in using PowerBi, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools.About The University of Texas at TylerThe University of Texas at Tyler is part of the prestigious University of Texas System that includes 13 institutions located throughout the state.
