The Senior Data Center Smart Hands Technician is a critical role responsible for providing hands-on technical support in the operation, maintenance, and optimization of two state-of-the-art data center facilities. - Install, configure, and maintain servers, network equipment, and data center racks.
- Perform rack-and-stack activities, including installing rack PDUs, running fiber and copper cabling, and cable management.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve hardware and network connectivity issues.
- Perform power redundancy and usage assessments, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
Physical Space Management:
- Plan and manage physical space within the data center, ensuring efficient layout and optimal utilization.
- Conduct power audits, assess amperage requirements, and manage cabling needs.
Asset & Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, including servers, networking devices, and cabling.
- Decommission and securely handle retired or faulty equipment.
Documentation:
- Create and maintain up-to-date network diagrams, rack diagrams, and cabling maps.
- Document changes, troubleshooting steps, and solutions in a ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow).
Customer Service:
- Serve as a reliable team member, demonstrating exceptional communication skills and professional interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure prompt responses to tickets and requests, providing excellent customer service.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

- 9+ years of equivalent experience in a data center environment.
- Deep understanding of power redundancy, power usage, and types of power cords and amps required in data centers.
- Proficiency in installing data center racks, rack PDUs, cabling, and assessing power requirements.
- Hands-on experience with physical hardware installations, including rack-and-stack activities, cabling (fiber and copper), and network troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and network connectivity issues efficiently.
- Experience with data center asset and inventory management tools, including ServiceNow or similar platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing equipment, cabling, and associated documentation.
- A track record of delivering exceptional customer service and working collaboratively within a team.
