This role will play an integral part in leading data activities and reporting to the CIO at 5P Consulting and the client organization s VP of Technology. The client is in the clean energy space.5P Consulting is looking for a high-performing individual who is polished and driven to make an impact in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. You will be have the opportunity to lead data activities while contributing to the global need for sustainable energy. The Senior Data Engineer will join a client team of high-performing and collaborative professionals, working closely together on the development and execution of data ingestion, structures, analytics, and reporting.A Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing data structures and data analysis systems and processes to support business decision-making. Collaborating with the business and cross-functional teams, the Senior Data Engineer will also be responsible for identifying and configuring new data pipelines to improve data collection and analysis as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements, communicating complex data analysis and insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, staying up-to-date with the latest data analysis tools and techniques, and continuously improving the data analysis capabilities of the organization, and ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all data sources.The Senior Data Engineer will also be responsible for analyzing data and providing insights to support the near and long-term IT strategy for the business. They work closely with traders, analysts, and executives to identify and execute technology-focused business transformation and process improvement initiatives. They use advanced statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modeling techniques to solve high-priority business problems and draw data-driven insights.The ideal candidate has both a strong technology background and a solid understanding of Data Analytics, Data Schemas, and Data Structuring. Knowledge of the power market would be a plus.Job Type : This is a full-time, exempt, on-site positionExpected work hours: 40p/wkTo Apply: Submit your cover letter here and Responsibilities :Work with the Data Analytics team and stakeholders to define business requirements and outcomes and ensure the information delivery data platform and supporting IT infrastructure can support current and future digital transformation initiativesCoordinate with the support teams, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to develop and manage the information delivery platformAnalyze data and provide insights to support the proprietary data warehousing and analytics platform (built on AWS Databricks)Work closely with the Data Analytics team and relevant IT teams to support the long-term platform strategy and identify enhancementsCoordinate with the support teams, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to maintain and improve performance and user experience of the Information Delivery Data platform used by the business to support reporting and development of toolsCollaborate with external partners and engineering teams to execute the development of new tools and ensure a support strategy will be established after executionIdentify opportunities for cost savings and build business cases for solutions for groups within the Senior Data Engineer s purviewRequirements: Exceptional proactive solutioning and execution skills; We can t wait on the client we have to be an exceptional consultant driving impactExceptional communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skillsStrong attention to detail with the ability to work in a conscientious, consistent, and thorough mannerStrong focus on the customer and delivering business outcomesProven ability in using statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and explanatory modeling to identify trendsAbility to handle a fast-paced work environment, deadlines, and new challengesResults-driven and tenaciousExceptional time management and organizational skillsAble to work effectively in ambiguous or changing situationsKnowledge of business analysis, quality assurance, and workflow tools and/or practicesAdvanced understanding of data management and visualization practicesAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteQualifications: Bachelor s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related fieldMinimum of five (5) years of professional experience in a Data Engineering, Data Analytics and/or Data Science capacityExperience with AWS tools and products (S3, EventBridge, etc.)Experience with Data Viz tools (Tableau, Power BI) preferredExperience in Python and SQL, familiarity with data processing frameworks such as Spark a plusExposure to ML and AI use cases and projectsExperience in electricity physical or financial markets is an assetCulture: 5P is a business transformation firm focused on strategy, business process, and technology enablement.
