About the Position Foursquare is looking for a highly skilled Senior Data engineer to join our team While we would prefer candidates based in or around our office hub in Seattle or New York. Data Engineers at Foursquare have a unique opportunity to combine large scale 1st and 3rd party geospatial datasets with other data (transactions, ad impressions and more) to derive actionable business insights. We do so by combining unique datasets with a series of proprietary algorithms and/or models while leveraging numerous compute platforms (both hyperscalers and emerging geospatial compute platforms). In this role, you'll • Work closely with data scientists to productionize ML models. • Design, implement & maintain data pipelines that process billions of impressions, visits and transactions per day. • Build new features by working directly with customer facing teams. • Work effectively with a high degree of autonomy within a collaborative team. What you'll need • 8 years of experience in building large scale data pipelines using Spark. • Hands-on experience with orchestration technologies such as Airflow. • Working knowledge of open table formats such as Delta, Iceberg or Hudi. • Experience working with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake or Redshift. • Proficient in SQL. • Experience designing and deploying high performance systems with reliable monitoring and logging practices. • Experience in optimizing and troubleshooting complex data pipelines. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
