Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Engineer (PE) to join our innovative design team in a growing family-owned business. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in civil engineering principles, with a focus in GeoTechnical and Structural.
Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Perform preliminary pile designs, takeoffs, and quotations:
- Review and understand the project plans, specifications, and geotechnical report
- Coordinate project pile/foundation designs
- Provide design and material recommendations including Value Engineering (VE) pile/foundation design alternates
- Collaborate with the Team to understand client and project needs to offer most economical design
- Coordinate and participate in conference calls between the project teams
- Prepare preliminary design submittal and coordinate material quote with the team
Execute signed & sealed design submittals:
- Verify all project information (plans, specifications, and geotechnical report) is available and adequate for the design process
- Execute submittal completion within the project schedule and budget
- Review and execute any revisions required, while maintaining the original design intent and budget
- Address design RFI's
- Provide supporting documentation as required
Leadership and Sales Scope:
- Provide technical sales support to effectively pitch VE alternates to clients and project engineers
- Represent Ideal at tradeshows, professional conferences, and training sessions
- Provide technical presentations to engineering firms (PDH accredited)
- Mentor and coach junior engineers
- Develop and foster strong professional relationships with respected engineers and industry leaders to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing within the specific industry
Skills
- Licensed Professional Engineer required
- Geotechnical and structural engineering experience required
- Experience in deep foundation systems preferred
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Inventor is essential.
- Expertise in root cause analysis techniques to troubleshoot design issues effectively.
- Knowledge of drafting standards, particularly GD&T, is crucial for this role.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $105,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
