Job Description1. Leads teams in the identification and development of new business initiatives and opportunities consistent with the mission and strategic direction of the Health System under the direction of Senior Leadership.2. Attends and participates in high level executive meetings, providing Business Operations leadership related to the improvement of the quality outcomes of the member hospitals of New York City Health and Hospitals under direction of the Deputy Chief.3. Is ultimately responsible for the key performance indicators and process measures to implement management controls and reporting procedures to ensure that ensure department has up to date situational awareness of all core issues and operating data pertinent to sound decision making.4. Responsible for the coordination of the Business Operations Office and select Corporate Pharmacy and Supply Chain Operations consistent with the programs developed that optimize best practices of patient care.5. Leads and mentors developing Directors on performance improvement techniques including assisting with strategic planning of initiatives focused on Health System priorities.6. Ensures the Directors, Business operations and Team deliver functional and technical requirements for large scale implementations including:a. Develops POCs, Project Charters, Project and Business Plans.b. Identify project stakeholders, determine their needs and expectations for project successc. Develop communication strategy and establish communication pland. Performs necessary investigations, analyses, and evaluations to determine project feasibility. e. Prepares routine project status reports. f. Ensure facility resources meet site management, information technology and data monitoring objectives.g. Provide regular project status information to team members, including attending required meetings and following-up on action items.h. Ensure adherence to protocols, procedures, and project plans.i. Establish project goals and measurements of successj. Ensure each project deliverable has clear completion criteria and acceptance plank. Participate in identification, evaluation, and selection of pilot sites.l. Ensure all projects have a clear education and training componentm. Maintains all relevant documentation and communications as part of program library.7. Provides direction and support to the leadership team ensuring the team is informed of all senior level project details, changes, decisions, etc. that may affect the success of the strategic initiative.8. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships within the system in order to successfully deliver projects, programs, and equipment required for the Health System's strategic imperatives.9. Helps to establish and strategically lead short and long term operational/strategic business activities - by ensuring the teams have the resources to be successful.10. Ensures adherence to business operations and project specific quality documents (for example: SOPs, work plans/practices, training guides).11. Assists the Deputy Chief, Business Operations by ensuring he/she has the information to make executive decisions impacting the health system.12. Responsible for project goals for submission and approvals, facility initiation, source document verification, data monitoring, ownership and accountability, and facility/site closure.
Minimum Qualifications1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Healthcare Administration, Health Care Planning, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related discipline; and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, public administration, personnel and labor relations, finance or appropriate functional discipline with an emphasis on planning, liaison and inter-organizational relationships, or related administrative or managerial functions; or2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in 1 above; and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in areas, as listed in 1 ; or3. Satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. However, all candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in disciplines, as listed in 1 above.
