Who are we hiring?

The Senior Director Communications is the day-to-day lead on a wide range of communications initiatives across Sphere. Working closely with the broader Communications team, the Senior Director is dedicated to developing, planning, and executing campaigns that drive the strategic narrative around Sphere, with an emphasis on earned media and reaching audiences critical to our success, including the creative industry, the music industry, brands/advertisers, and tech, as well as consumers. The Senior Director is also focused on developing thought leadership opportunities in key strategic forums, including interviews, and speaking engagements, for Sphere's executive team.

What will you do?

* Partner closely with SVP and VP Communications to elevate communications and support key priorities that further the Sphere brand and business.

* Develop and execute ongoing communications campaigns to establish a steady drumbeat of coverage on new Sphere events and initiatives, key milestones, social responsibility efforts, and more.

* Working closely with counterparts across the company, including in marketing, partnerships, corporate events, sales, and bookings, support key business goals as the communications lead.

* Conduct strategic media outreach that supports the Company's goals and creates compelling press strategies around key priorities; react and respond to incoming media inquiries.

* Identify and secure opportunities that elevate the profile of the Company's executives, including through strategic speaking engagements and interviews.

What do you need to succeed?

* 10+ years strategic communications and public relations experience

* Skilled in the development of integrated communications plans as well as crisis communications

* Outstanding communications skills, particularly written

* Relationships with media and experience executing high-profile publicity campaigns and events

* Comfort working with executives in high pressure settings, under tight and unexpected deadlines

* Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information

* Strategic thinker with the acumen to connect the dots on key issues across the business

* Attention to detail and ability to handle many projects at once

* High level of energy and commitment, and a positive influence on teammates

* Experience working in a public company or public entity

* Experience working on a team in a matrix organization

Special Requirements

* Must be based onsite in New York, NY office

* Flexibility to travel, primarily to Las Vegas and Los Angeles, as needed

* Ability to work late nights, weekends and holidays, as needed

Pay Range

$134,000-$215,000 USD
