As part of the Quality and Safety division, Data and Analytics (DnA) empowers NYC Health + Hospitals and its partners with data, digital tools, AI capabilities, and insights to drive quality and performance improvements, support enterprise operations, and enhance patient outcomes. We are seeking an experienced Senior Director to lead our Data & Analytics division. This role requires a strong background in product management, innovative problem-solving, and analytical skills to translate complex healthcare challenges into actionable data solutions.
Reporting to the Chief Data Officer (CDO), the Senior Director will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction, planning, and execution of analytics initiatives to catalyze the transformation of healthcare and business operations. They will work closely with senior business stakeholders and their teams to understand business objectives and identify opportunities to leverage enterprise data and analytics for fact-based decision-making and business value. As a people leader, they will foster an agile execution culture within analytics delivery teams and lead a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, analysts, and product managers to develop innovative solutions that optimize patient care and improve overall quality outcomes.
General tasks and responsibilities will include:
Strategic Leadership
Provide strategic direction and vision for the development and implementation of healthcare clinical and quality data solutions.
Collaborate with senior business stakeholders to identify and prioritize opportunities to leverage data and analytics for maximum business impact.
Establish goals and OKRs for ensuring alignment with the organization's priorities and track people engagement and delivery, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Product & Portfolio Management
Lead the development and execution of our data and analytics product strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Balance and prioritize competing business requests by evaluating the potential impact, value, and alignment with strategic goals.
Define product roadmaps, prioritize feature development, and oversee the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, data analysts, data engineers, governance specialists, and product managers to deliver high-quality products that meet customer needs.
Manage a portfolio of data and analytics products, ensuring effective prioritization and resource allocation to achieve business objectives.
People Leadership
Develop and nurture an agile execution culture with a product mindset within the analytics delivery teams
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, analysts, governance specialists and product managers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Implement comprehensive training programs to enhance the proficiency of the existing workforce in cutting-edge data and AI knowledge, concurrently augment the team's capabilities by recruiting new product managers.
Provide mentorship, coaching, and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Serve as the key liaison with business stakeholders for data and analytics initiatives- develop and present business cases, provide regular updates and insights to senior leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in hospital administration, health care planning, business administration, public administration or an approved related program and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, public administration, personnel and labor relations, finance or appropriate functional discipline with an emphasis on planning, liaison and inter-organizational relationships, or related administrative or managerial functions; or
2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, public administration, personnel and labor relations, finance or appropriate functional discipline with an emphasis on planning, liaison and inter-organizational relationships, or related administrative or managerial functions; or
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience. However, all candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor s Degree.
