A leading Food and Beverage manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior EHS Director to provide leadership to its EHS strategy and assist the company in achieving world-class EHS performance.
Working closely with the VP of EHS, the Senior EHS Director will drive EHS excellence across the organization. This role will oversee 2 director level reports.
***Candidates must be located in Upstate or Central NY, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, or Maine - no remote base***
The role:
- The Sr. Director will provide executive level leadership for EHS activities within all company business units.
- This individual will lead EHS across the entire organization and provide leadership and technical expertise to meet all business and company EHS objectives.
- Plan and implement safety policies and procedures, leading compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
- Plan and implement EHS programs, train supervisors, managers and employees in work site safety practices and correct handling techniques for chemical hazards, machine guarding, etc.
- Oversee workers' compensation program, partnering with operations leaders, human resource professionals, and insurance adjusters.
- Oversee the administration of company fleet safety manual and closely partners with distribution and transportation representatives.
- Oversee and guide the OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP) compliance efforts.
The candidate:
- BA/BS degree in science, engineering or related discipline
- CSP preferred
- Master's degree in a relevant field of study preferred
- 20+ years of progressive EHS experience within the manufacturing industry, with strategic EHS leadership experience at large organizations.
- 10+ years of experience in a leadership position is required.
- Demonstrated experience of successful EHS program management across multiple sites.
- Ability to travel up to 60%.
