Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company's R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding professionals in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Head of Alliance Management to lead and manage the Alliance Management function at Revolution Medicines. This position reports to the VP, Program, Portfolio and Alliance Management (PPAM) and will be part of the PPAM leadership Team.

As the Head of Alliance Management, you will be responsible for the Alliance Management function, building and maintaining successful relationships with external partners and evolving the alliance management capability within Revolution Medicines. You will manage the Alliance Management team as well as serve as the alliance manager on multiple partnerships, depending on portfolio needs. You will be an active member of the PPAM LT, collaborating closely to develop talent, share learnings, cultivate and implement best practices, and ensure consistent ways of working across PPAM and the broader organization. This position is based at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA.

The Head of Alliance Management must be entrepreneurial, able to roll up their sleeves and thrive in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment. You can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have strong interpersonal skills that you will leverage to successfully partner cross-functionally with internal and external teams and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the Alliance Management (AM) function.
    • Develop and deliver on an inspiring vision and strategy for the AM function, ensuring recognition of the AM function within RevMed.
    • Evolve the AM capability within Revolution Medicines, establish roles and responsibilities and developing and implement AM best practice.
    • Grow the AM function to ensure continuous fit for purpose as our portfolio expands both in size and complexity.
    • Manage, coach and mentor individual contributor Alliance Managers to drive excellence and accountability, setting direction for expectations of the AM role.
  • Proactively and effectively manage external partnerships and ensure that their long-term potential is realized:
    • Build successful relationships with key partners, including corporate, government, charity and academic organizations.
    • Develop a deep understanding of the partner's structure, people strategy and decision-making processes.
    • Safeguard each partnership's strategic intent, ensure partnership goals are achieved and that governance processes are respected.
    • Align internal stakeholders to drive towards achievement of partnered project goals.
  • Maintain oversight across all external partnerships and proactively identify and escalate issues which require portfolio-level or senior management action.
  • Partner with Corporate Development to manage partnership expansion opportunities.
  • Contribute to the overall strategy and development of PPAM, as a member of the PPAM LT.
  • Uphold an open, inclusive and collaborative culture with a focus on shared learning and people development.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
  • At least 10 years' experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry with 5+ years' experience in alliance management, with a track record of having successfully managed partnerships.
  • Experience building out (sub)functions and implementing supporting infrastructure and best practice.
  • Demonstrated leadership, influencing skills, creativity, problem solving and ability to manage complexity.
  • Track record of being a collaborative team player, and adaptive to meet the needs of a growing business.
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, a tolerance for ambiguity, and a passion for helping cancer patients.
  • Ability to represent Revolution Medicines well externally: strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, and proven ability to foster strong relationships.
  • Experience leading and managing people.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating contracts.
  • Experience with commonly used AM tools and techniques.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with clinical development stages and understanding of the external landscape and key players in Oncology space strongly preferred.
  • Line management experience preferred, matrix management experience acceptable alternative.

The expected salary range for this role is $235,000 to $281,000. An individual's position within the range may be influenced by multiple factors, including skills and experience in role, overall performance, individual impact and contributions, tenure, and market dynamics. Base salary is one part of the overall total rewards program at RevMed, which includes competitive cash compensation, robust equity awards, strong benefits, and significant learning and development opportunities.
